6 series per year

We begin in September and end before the summer holidays. There is always one series available. When it finishes, we assess your submitted solutions and send the corrected copies with comments and score back to you, so you get feedback on the fly.

Two easy, three advanced problems. One experimental task, where you need to measure something, an open task where there is no single correct answer and a serial problem – dealing with one topic in depth throughout the whole year.

Camps in nature

The biggest award for our competitors is a week-long camp in the Czech nature, which is full of games, interesting physics lectures and fun (so far only in Czech, but will be extended to English in case of high interest).

Physics Brawl Online

Each November, we host an online team competition called Physics Brawl Online. Teams of 5 high-school students have three hours to solve as many physics problems as possible. Teams submit their solutions on our website. If it's correct, they receive a new problem. The team which solves the most problems wins. Participation is free and you can win valuable prizes!

The Day of Experimental Physics is a one-day event in the Czech Republic. We take the participants through different facilities, where the real physics is made. The event is free and usually is connected with the Open Day at CUNI MFF.

The Week of Applied Physics is an occasional event held by FYKOS, where we usually travel abroad and visit an interesting physics facility, for example the LHC at CERN.

Fyziklani in Prague

An in-person variant of the Physics Brawl Online, called Fyziklani, is held every February in Prague. During three hours, teams of 5 members solve physics problems – this time without the internet, only with printed literature. The best team wins fame and valuable prizes. In the past, prizes included Razer keyboards, diaries, vouchers and other.
